So we have all heard the terms “empty calories” or “high caloric intake” before.
What do they really mean? Empty calories: calories derived from the consumption of foods with no nutritional value.
High caloric intake: an intake of calories, which is likely a mix of good and bad food choices, that exceed the recommended “daily calorie limit” for adult women vs adult males.
Though the concepts seem like opposites or competing thoughts (empty vs excess), truly neither is guaranteed to sustain nor support a healthy lifestyle.
The goal should be to nourish the body regularly and not just fill the stomach because even garbage disposals and trash cans get filled.
When we consume garbage, we tend to have symptoms that lead to unhealthy conditions.
Spiritual stewardship is all the same.
Feeding ourselves the things of this world OR excessively consuming a mix of the word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Matt4:4) and lies from the mouth (John8:44) of the god of this world (2Cor4:4) will lead to an unhealthy spiritual condition.
There is a reason why unhealthy food choices are easy to make for so many because wide is the way to destruction and many there be that find it (Matt7:13).
We must consume the word regularly (Jer15:16) as it is one of the best lessons that we can learn to establish a healthy lifestyle (1Cor10:1-12).
When we consume the word regularly and store it in our heart (Ps119:11), we will symptomatically speak (Matt12:34) the things that are acceptable and pleasing to God as an ongoing practice (Heb5:14) and grow strong in The Lord (Eph6:10).
May today be a true day of independence for you in Jesus (2Cor3:17)!
Happy Independence Day! #Godissogood #undefeated #beintentional #Jesusisworthy
