A deep cleaning...

Let’s be real, some of us enjoy routine cleaning… some have cleaning fits where a burst of energy comes out and everything in the path will get some attention until the fuse dies out… some don’t recall signing up to clean a thing…
Irrespective of which category we find ourself in, there are some types of cleaning that we like or rather “don’t mind” and there are some that we would prefer to avoid if it were possible.
Spoiler alert, mopping is not at the top of my preferred list. Nonetheless, I do what I gotta do (poor grammar and all ).
So, I move all of the barriers out of the way that would block the mop from having full access to clean the surface and beyond. Stools get set aside, benches get pushed unto the carpet, dining chairs get removed from the space, etc.
Then I prepare a bucket with clean water and a natural, yet powerful, cleaning agent. I submerge my mop and go to work.
There are some spots on the surface of my tile that are obviously dirty (scuff mark from a shoe, maybe a coffee splatter, etc.). Yet, my tile can be deceptive as the pattern and grout color hide the dirt fairly well. It is not until I have washed my tile with this water solution a couple of times in each section that I begin to see the water in the bucket is no longer clear. This not so preferred activity has proven fruitful yet again. What started off unenjoyable has ended better than where I started and also better for all who come into contact with the cleaner version as well.
How are you removing the barriers of your heart (Matt5:8, 15:19, Acts8:21) to avoid blocking access for Holy Spirit?
When did you last allow each section of yourself to be washed by the clean water of the word (Eph5:26) and our powerful Lord Jesus who has a reputation for being the cleaning agent (John15:3)? Go with the natural and powerful solution (Acts10:38) not the false recommendations of the world (Eph4:14).
We can all see the obvious things on the surface of our life that need to be addressed, but if we stop there, then we are in denial (Jer17:9). Let God do the work of deeper than the surface cleaning so that we are cleansed and appear more like Jesus (2Cor3:18), which will solely bless us and all that come into contact with us.
